Movie Review:
Red River Valley
It's not quite about the Dalai Lama,
but it is about Tibet in 1905 when
the Brits came in. Interesting movie;
lots of great scenery cause it was
shot on location by a Chinese
film-maker.
Worth getting from Netflix.
Let me know how you liked it. |
Butter Carvers
Now that's a vocation! Once apon a time, the Museum of Natural History in NYC had a program that featured a group of Tibetan monks carving butter into extremely large, wonderous and beautiful designs. I think that they also somehow worked in color...I'm sure this had some great significance for the monks; I just wondered what they did with the butter when they were through carving.
Toddle destroys sand painting by Buddist monks. At least he didn't get into the butter.
